So… our afternoon post is a little early today. Surprise! Fancy meeting you here. A short while back we teamed up with Joss & Main on one of our most popular giveaways, and after that collaboration they invited us to curate a short sale event on their site. In practice that meant doing tons of virtual window shopping—sorting through hundreds of products in their catalog—and selecting the items we loved best to form a Young House Love collection.
Would we be interested? Absolutely. We were thrilled to say yes.
Honestly, neither of us ever pictured the title “curator” applying to our little household hobby, unless you count my unofficial role as Curator of Too Many Pins on Pinterest and John as Curator of Too Many Soda T-shirts. Still, we accepted the invite with real excitement. We may have done a little celebratory fist bump and promptly rang up our parents to beg them to buy something small, because for some reason we felt like this tiny virtual shop needed all the moral support it could get.
Getting the chance to assemble a small, virtual home-decor shop for 72 hours felt like a dream come true. While we didn’t set the prices, we intentionally chose a range of items to suit a variety of budgets—everything from inexpensive accessories under $25 to statement furnishings in the few-hundred-dollar range. Our goal was to curate a versatile mix: pieces that would work in many homes and that we’d be genuinely excited to recommend.
