When Phuong and her husband Jeff sent over their Design Dilemma after photos, we were excited to share the results. Our goal with the mood board was to introduce color, modern layers, and tactile elements to create warmth and ambiance. The plan included a balanced mix of bold accents and practical updates so the room would feel polished but still comfortable and livable. Now for the after photos. Phuong and Jeff followed the mood board closely, and the result is a refreshed bedroom that feels both inviting and contemporary. They introduced colorful and textural accessories that dramatically changed the previously neutral palette of browns and beige. The overall effect is a room that feels cozier and more purposeful without sacrificing the calm atmosphere desirable in a bedroom.
What stands out immediately are the thoughtful pops of color and the way texture was layered throughout the space. The striped slipper chairs add a playful visual anchor while remaining functional and comfortable. A large abstract art print hangs opposite the window, drawing the eye and balancing the room. Accents in aqua and amber bring warmth and vibrancy, helping to lift the neutral backdrop without overwhelming it.
Textural elements also play a big role in the update. The area rug introduces subtle pattern and softness underfoot, while the curtains add vertical movement and a sense of height. Accessories such as the blue faux coral on the tall chest and the decorative mirrors positioned behind each nightstand help to reflect light and give the room a brighter, more open feel. We’re grateful they took the time to send their update — seeing before-and-after progress in real homes is one of our favorite parts of the process.
