We recently had the pleasure of being filmed for an upcoming episode of Rate My Space.
First, a big thank-you to Shaina, Layers of Meaning, Abbie in Co, Elizabeth, and Heather for correctly guessing our news after we dropped a few hints a few weeks back. We loved the enthusiasm and the guesses, and we appreciate everyone who joined in the excitement. Because we’ve agreed to keep certain details under wraps until the episode airs, we can’t share everything about the experience just yet—but we can say a few things without spoiling the surprise.
The shoot went exceptionally well. The Rate My Space crew arrived prepared and professional, and they made the day enjoyable from start to finish. Host Angelo Surmelis was warm, personable, and easy to work with, which helped relax the whole team and made the process smooth and fun. The crew was respectful of our space, efficient with their setup, and clearly experienced at capturing the best angles and moments for the show.
At the moment the production team hasn’t confirmed the exact airdate of our episode. The tentative window is either late December or early January. As soon as we receive a firm date and time, we’ll share that information here so you can tune in. Until then, we’re practicing patience and looking forward to seeing the final edit on TV.
If you don’t have HGTV as part of your cable package, don’t worry. Full episodes of Rate My Space are available online, which makes it easier to catch up wherever you can access the show. Having the option to stream episodes is a real bonus—it means more people can see the finished segment without waiting for a cable broadcast.
Because we’ve agreed not to disclose which part of the house was featured, the only image we can share so far is a shot of the crew filming our exterior. We were fortunate to have good weather that day, which made outdoor filming straightforward and visually pleasing. Natural light can make a big difference in how footage looks, so sunny skies were a small but welcome bit of luck.
We know that teasing you with hints without revealing the full story can be frustrating, but we promise it’ll be worth the wait. Once the team gives us the green light, we’ll post plenty of photos from the shoot, behind-the-scenes snapshots, and a full recap of the experience. We’re excited to show the transformation and share the moments that didn’t make it into the final cut as well—there are always fun, candid moments during a shoot that fans enjoy seeing.
