We’re excited to share a simple, budget-friendly upcycle that turned an old thrift-store find into a stylish sunroom dining table. Two years ago we picked up a rickety game table for just twenty dollars. The square top was worn and scruffy, but the chunky wooden pedestal underneath caught our eye—we could see the potential right away. After a few interim uses, the table ended up in the garage, waiting for the right moment to be transformed into something fresh and useful.
With warmer weather approaching, we started craving meals outdoors without the annoyance of bugs. That idea evolved into a practical plan: create a small dining nook in the sunroom where we could enjoy light-filled meals and morning coffee sheltered from insects. We found a pre-made round tabletop at Lowe’s for about forty dollars and mounted it on the old pedestal. Two of the chairs now work perfectly for our compact dining nook, and the other chairs can be used elsewhere or stored until needed. Reusing existing furniture keeps costs down and brings continuity to the space.
