You’re probably used to seeing our store wanderings—Target, Ikea, Crate & Barrel, Anthropologie—but this time we took the camera into HomeGoods and found so many budget-friendly, stylish pieces that we had to share. Below are the highlights from our latest HomeGoods shopping stroll: the décor, art, and accessories that stood out for their design and value.
One standout was a sculptural white cut-out urn that reads like art. At nearly two feet tall, it makes a dramatic centerpiece on a large dining table or a striking accent on a console or buffet. If you love whimsical ceramic animals, HomeGoods had oversized white lacquered greyhounds that felt luxe and graphic. At approximately $39, they’re an affordable way to expand a ceramic-animal collection and add sculptural interest to mantels, consoles, or entry tables.
Not everything in the animal aisle was a winner—there were plenty of oddities, including an odd figurine of a cat holding a basket with a kitten in her mouth. Still, part of the fun of hunting for treasures is sifting through quirky finds to land on the pieces that truly delight.

We also discovered initial-style mugs that recalled higher-end designs; they were priced near $3.99 apiece and could double as personalized desk organizers or toothbrush holders in a black-and-white bathroom scheme.
Kitchen gadgets included glossy Chantal tea kettles in an array of bright colors for about $24. They’re the kind of functional accessory that also works as a decorative accent on a stove or open shelf, bringing color and personality to the kitchen.
The towel selection was solid, with patterns reminiscent of vintage hex tile and a palette of soft blue, white, tan, and mocha—perfect for bathrooms aiming for a subtle, classic look.
Finally, lamps remain one of HomeGoods’ biggest strengths. We found large, cheerful ceramic lamps in bold colors for around $49, and curvy blue-based models for roughly $39. These lamps can transform a room when used in pairs on nightstands or end tables, and they’re priced far below comparable options at lighting specialty stores or major home retailers.
All told, this trip reinforced why HomeGoods is such a favorite for affordable home décor: you can find sculptural ceramics, colorful kitchenware, unexpected art, luxe-looking pillows, and lamps that genuinely elevate a space—all at prices that make updating a room easy and affordable.
