Young House Love turns two this week — cue the cooing toddler sound effects. It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating our very first blogiversary. Time really flies when you’re having fun, and to mark our second year in the blogosphere we’ve put together a few special things to celebrate the last 365 incredible days we’ve spent sharing projects, mishaps, and ideas with all of you.
To kick off the festivities, we’ve planned a full week of blogiversary-themed posts that look back at the highs, the lows, and the messy middle of the past two years. We’ll revisit favorite projects, highlight memorable milestones, and share lessons learned along the way. We’re also excited to give away a fantastic blogiversary prize later this week — we can’t wait to reveal it — and we’ll be asking for your input on what you’d like to see from Young House Love in year three. Your feedback has always shaped this site, and we want to keep growing with you.
Before the party really gets started, we need to take a moment to say thank you. When we started a small blog to document our kitchen remodel two years ago, we never imagined it would turn into a full-time passion. Your enthusiasm, your comments, and the emails you send us have been the fuel that keeps this project going. You should see how much joy each message brings — we’re grinning like we just won a prize every time we open our inbox.
The past year has been full of wonderful surprises we never expected. Thanks to your support, our little blog found its way onto national TV and into major publications. We’ve had moments featured on networks and in newspapers, and even had our faces on the cover of a national magazine. Those experiences were surreal, but what’s most meaningful to us is that this blog has allowed us to do what we love every day while still taking care of the real-life responsibilities that come along with it — including making sure Burger’s bowl stays full.
We’re deeply grateful for the community that’s grown around Young House Love. You’ve helped turn a simple documentation of a kitchen remodel into a collaborative space where ideas are exchanged, mistakes are forgiven, and creativity is celebrated.
Looking forward, we’re more excited than ever about what’s next.
