We’ve been sitting on a fun secret, and now we’re ready to share it. After months of online chatting and swapping comments, we finally took our internet friendship into the real world. We packed up the car, pointed it toward Atlanta, and spent a long weekend visiting Katie Bower of All Bower Power at her beautiful home. It felt like a little crossover event—part road trip, part sleepover, and all good times.
From the moment we arrived, it was non-stop hanging out: swapping stories, brainstorming ideas, and staying up late talking until the house grew quiet. The guys even found time for a racquetball game while we camped out on the floor and talked for hours. But our time together wasn’t all play. Katie and I teamed up for a quick decorating project: we spent an afternoon rearranging a bedroom corner using mostly items she already owned. No new purchases, no big budget—just creativity, a couple of power tools, and teamwork. Her setup shares some similarities with our bedroom storage: both spaces use practical wardrobe systems with curtains for concealed storage. Katie’s version leans bright and colorful, while my personal closet tends toward darker tones—99.9% black, in fact—so I always find myself photographing John’s side when we show our closet because his colorful shirts photograph better. Katie’s closet, by contrast, is a visual treat with everything displayed by shade for easy selection and a pleasing aesthetic.
Katie also has a thoughtful approach to jewelry storage. She uses clear drawers that slide smoothly for quick access, making it easy to see and reach pieces without digging through clutter. Organizing jewelry by color and material keeps everything visible and tidy, and the drawers are perfect for protecting delicate pieces while keeping them within easy reach.
The room that houses Katie’s wardrobes functions as a fully organized changing area. Shelving, bins, baskets, and hanging rods are all used thoughtfully to corral accessories and clothing, so everything has a place.
