Glass Bottle Ideas for Charming Sunroom Decor

Spring is in full swing, with azaleas in bloom and the inevitable allergy flare-ups that remind me the season has arrived. To celebrate the brighter days, I gave the side tables in our sunroom a quick spring makeover—simple changes that bring freshness and color without a major overhaul. Here’s one of the side tables before the update:

The after is much more cheerful and spring-like. I added a sea fan we picked up on a recent island getaway and a glass cup set on striped coasters that add a playful pop of pattern. Small, thoughtful accessories like these instantly lift a space and help the sunroom feel brighter and more welcoming. Styling side tables for spring is a quick, budget-friendly way to refresh a room.

On the other side of the sunroom, the second table got a similar, simple refresh. Before, it felt a little ordinary; after styling, it now complements the season and catches the light beautifully. Here’s how that table looked before I started:

For this vignette I gathered a handful of recycled bottles and glass vases—some salvaged wine bottles, a few small vases, and even an old blue soap dispenser (minus the pump). I grouped them on a tray so the arrangement feels intentional and contained. When sunlight filters through the window, the glass pieces transform the tray into a kaleidoscope of color, almost like three-dimensional stained glass. A couple of starfish tucked among the bottles add a whimsical coastal note.

One of my favorite little details from this project is a starfish used as an unexpected cork—an inexpensive, playful touch that speaks to seaside memories and adds personality to an otherwise ordinary item. Small details like this help a vignette tell a story and feel curated rather than accidental. Here’s a close-up of that starfish-cork:

Variety is the spice of life—especially in seasonal decorating. While I still love a classic white accessory or two, adding color and texture for spring feels energizing and fresh. Recycled glass, natural elements like sea fans and starfish, and a few patterned accents are all it takes to shift a room’s mood. These small seasonal updates keep the space feeling relevant without requiring a full redesign.

Spring decorating doesn’t need to be complicated. Simple rituals—bringing cut flowers inside, swapping heavier textiles for lighter ones, grouping favorite finds on trays, and incorporating reclaimed or recycled decor—are easy ways to welcome the season. Whether your spring ritual is a deep clean, a shopping excursion, or a creative rearrange of existing pieces, little changes make a big impact. What puts a spring in your step this time of year? Do you have rituals for refreshing your home each season?
