Home Depot’s network of approximately 1,200 local Tool Rental Centers offers access to more than 325 professional-grade tools. That selection includes power tools, hand tools, yard and garden equipment, and electrical gear—everything from a one-time-use aerator to specialty equipment for larger jobs. Renting can be a smart choice when you need a high-quality tool for a short-term project without the expense and storage hassle of buying it outright.
To enter this giveaway, participants were asked to browse Home Depot’s selection of tool rentals and then comment on the post using the phrase: “GOTTA GET A [insert name of tool you’d most like to rent].” Along with naming the tool, entrants were required to say what project they planned to tackle with it. That extra detail helped the organizers understand the project context and ensured each entry was specific and intentional. For example, one might write: “GOTTA GET A power washer — I’d use it to deep-clean the front porch and driveway.”
The combination of tool choice plus project description was critical to eligibility, so vague or incomplete comments wouldn’t meet the entry rules. This format also encouraged practical, real-world uses—think renting an aerator for annual lawn care, a tile saw for a bathroom refresh, or a concrete mixer for a small landscaping job.
Entries for this giveaway were accepted until Wednesday, March 25th at 8pm EST. The prize was open to United States residents only, and one winner was to be chosen at random and announced later that week. The sponsor—Home Depot—provided the gift card and screen grabs used to illustrate the tool rental experience.
