Sherry and I decided to give ourselves a slightly early Christmas gift this year: a big home improvement project. It’s a plan we’ve been imagining for some time, and now we’re finally making it happen. While the work is still underway and we want to keep the final result a surprise, we thought it would be fun to share a daily clue leading up to next week’s full reveal. When the project is finished, we’ll post the full “before and after” photos so you can see the transformation from start to finish.
Today’s clue is the photo below. It might look like a Christmas bush at first glance, but it’s actually our Christmas tree being taken down a week before the holiday. We had to dismantle it early for practical reasons as we prepared the house for the renovation, and couldn’t resist snapping a quick picture during the process. Preparing for a renovation often means making compromises and adjusting traditions. For us, that meant boxing up decorations earlier than usual, rearranging furniture, and creating pathways for work to be done without damaging cherished items.
