The house felt perfectly ready for a visit the moment we saw it, and even though it was too far for an in-person stop, gathering all the details and photos was a real pleasure.
Meet Kimberly. She and her husband Wayne have lived in this Edwardian home, built in 1906, since June 2010. Though the house isn’t enormous, it overflows with personality, thoughtful style, and welcoming energy. From the dragonfly door knocker to the geometric doormat and glossy black front door with a crisp number transfer, the entry sets the tone: playful, polished, and distinctly personal.
The dining room is one of the standout spaces. Painted a rich royal blue, it has an elevated yet relaxed feel thanks to a mix of textured chairs, an oversized brass mirror, and an array of playful patterns. A fireplace—working or not—adds character and warmth, and the room is balanced with smart, collected accessories. Many pieces were thrifted or repurposed: the dining chairs were found secondhand then painted and reupholstered, while the brass mirror and light fixture were sourced from vintage and design shops. A large framed collage stretches up to the crown molding, mixing typography, images, and maps to create a layered, lively wall display.
Kimberly’s creative streak extends to original artwork and furniture makeovers. She painted the art that sits above a refurbished bar cart and completed a large abstract painting across from the fireplace.
