Foyer Makeover Reveal
A little part of us always admires a well-designed entryway—many homes have a dedicated foyer while ours have tended to be nothing more than doors that open directly into living spaces. With plans to add board and batten in our hallway in the near future, we were especially taken with Jenna Sue’s recent foyer transformation. Her redesign shows how thoughtful finishes and a few DIY touches can change the welcome your home provides.
“We’re in the middle of 92,835 projects at our house, but we recently completed one that we’re pretty proud of and I thought I’d pass it your way. Our entryway started out with old white faux marble tile floors, metallic floral wallpaper, and a cheap outdated light fixture.”
To give the space a cleaner, fresher look, Jenna replaced the flooring with travertine-style porcelain tile. She installed board and batten molding herself, added sturdy coat hooks, applied a fresh coat of paint, and swapped the old fixture for a rustic, industrial-style light. Small, thoughtful updates—like custom art she designed for the wall—helped pull the entire scheme together.

The dark metal coat hooks provide a functional accent against the lighter wall, and the rustic fixture contributes a warm, welcoming glow that completes the vignette.
