I wanted to share a quick note about our recently completed kitchen renovation. The project involved moving windows and doors, taking down walls, closing off the odd railing area between the kitchen and family room, and completely reconfiguring the layout. We stripped the space down to the studs and rebuilt from there. While relocating electrical, plumbing, and HVAC added to the cost, it was absolutely worth it. In the end we essentially doubled the usable kitchen space.
We handled much of the labor ourselves and managed to stay within our budget. It was a massive undertaking, but the results are well worth the effort. The kitchen before was small, awkward, and dated. By removing the wall and rethinking the arrangement, we’ve created an open, bright space that our family now spends a lot of time in.
