We were delighted to receive Kim and Scott’s message about the built-in media wall they and a couple of friends constructed. The result is a custom solution that fits their space perfectly, looks professionally integrated, and saved them a significant amount of money. We started with a very green accent wall, and over time we began to layer in a few new pieces in the living room (a shaggy rug, a Craigslist coffee table, etc.). After those changes, we grew tired of the bold wall color and decided it was time to rethink the entire media area. If we were going to repaint, we figured we might as well build a whole new media wall.
With help from friends in another state, our wall traveled back to Chicago where it was finished, styled, and put to use. We live in a small city condo, so the media center—though larger than our previous unit—actually saves space, has a built-in look, and completes the room.
