This is off the hook, yo. Forgive me for getting a little gangster—my inner playful voice coming out. We’ve been slowly refreshing John’s sister Emily’s nursery on a tight budget, and the good news is we’re back with another update. So far we’ve painted modern vertical stripes, added large mirrors to open the room, made a no-sew bed skirt, and created simple, high-contrast pear artwork by painting over an old canvas with leftover paint.
Beyond paint and pretty pieces, function and storage are essential in any nursery. Emily’s room already includes a sizable armoire, a changing table, a full closet, and under-crib storage thanks to the bed skirt. Still, we wanted one more easy display to keep frequently used items within arm’s reach while adding visual interest. You might recall we had a plan for the empty space beneath those two large mirrors.
We finally implemented that simple plan, and it took about ten minutes. Literally. We hung six hooks under the mirrors to anchor them visually and introduce practical storage. The result feels modern and a little bit like a streamlined clothesline—perfect for a nursery where small items need quick access.

Always prioritize secure mounting and check weight limits so the hooks stay fastened over time.
