You’ve probably seen plenty of photos of our house, but we realized we hadn’t shared a full video tour in quite a while. It’s been over a year and a half since our last room-by-room walkthrough of Casa Petersik, and a lot has changed in that time. We converted a spare bedroom into a nursery, carved out a two-person office/play space inside our guest room, and completely gutted and rebuilt our bathroom. While photos give you details, a video helps you understand how the rooms flow together, and now that we’re shooting in HD with our Flip Mino HD, the whole place comes to life in a new way.
We’ve been deep-cleaning and decluttering the house because we’re getting it ready to go on the market, so it felt like the perfect moment to document the current state of the place. Without further ado, here is The 2010 YHL House Tour — a room-by-room walk-through that lets you see the layout and how the spaces connect (watch it on YouTube here):
The tour covers our main living areas and bedrooms, highlighting the updates and the small choices that make the house feel like home. You’ll see the living room arrangements, the transitions between rooms, and how natural light moves through the spaces at different angles. We also point out details that are easy to miss in still photos — things like paint colors in changing light, the scale of furniture in relation to each room, and how storage solutions fit into daily life.
Part of the charm of these behind-the-scenes tours is showing the home as it’s actually lived in, so yes, you’ll catch honest little moments — including Clara letting one rip at the end of the video. We keep things authentic here, and small real-life bits like that are part of the story of making a house into a home.
