This spring my husband and I refreshed our tired kitchen with a few targeted updates. Our goal was to improve the look and feel of the space without spending a fortune. With fresh paint, new cabinet hardware, glass inserts, a rug, a pendant light, and a bamboo window shade, our kitchen looks completely different. After the photos were taken, we also replaced beige switches and outlets with white ones for an extra $15. It’s a small detail but it really completes the look.

Painting the cabinets and adding clear glass inserts let light move through the space, and the grasscloth wallpaper behind the glass adds warmth and tactile interest without overwhelming the room.
