We had planned a different post this week, but Hurricane Sally slowly moved through the Gulf and left us with several days of steady rain. We were fortunate: no power outages and no flooding at our place, which has us feeling very grateful. We hope everyone who was more directly affected is safe and their homes are all right. Since the weather kept us from taking the outdoor photos we’d intended for an exterior update, we decided to focus on two overdue pages we’d been meaning to build for months. Thanks to your requests, both are now live.

Calling these spaces “after” might be a little hopeful — we moved in only four months ago and none of the rooms are at their final, forever-finished state — but the changes so far feel significant. The house already feels unusually settled to us, perhaps because the pandemic has everyone home more often, cooking more meals in the kitchen and using each area for multiple purposes like work and virtual learning. That constant daily use has helped each room come into its own very quickly.
Because things are evolving, some rooms may stay largely as they are for months or even years, while others will continue to shift as we add finishing touches. We’ll update the Before & After page as we make more progress and take fresh photos, so it’s a good place to check back for the latest comparisons and project links.

On the Shop Our House page you’ll find exact paint names for each room and links to the specific sources for rugs, furniture, and accessories. When an original item is no longer available, we do our best to recommend a close alternative. This page will be updated over time as rooms change or we add new elements, so it’s a living reference for anyone wanting to replicate a look or track down a product.
You can always access the Shop page from the menu under “Our Current House.” If you’re looking for sources from our previous homes — like the pink beach house, our duplex rental, or our Richmond house — those pages are still available under the “Our Previous Homes” dropdown.
We hope these two new pages make it easier for you to follow our progress and find the details you’ve asked about. The rain has cleared and the sun has returned, so next week we should be able to photograph several outdoor areas that haven’t been updated in a while — they’ve changed a lot since we last shot them.
