At first glance it appears to be a stack of logs, but it conceals the television and DVD player—an inventive, low-profile solution that keeps the room’s rustic character intact while accommodating modern living. This kind of practical creativity is a recurring theme in the cottage.
The living area is compact but inviting, arranged for comfort and conversation. Liz furnished the space with simple, comfortable chairs and a standout retro green lamp that brings personality and a mid-century twist to the room. The lamp offers an unexpected splash of color against neutral furnishings, proving that one well-chosen accent can define a space and lift its mood.
At one point, the same room served as a formal dining area. The dining setup included a table made from reclaimed planks and a set of old school chairs, each piece contributing history and texture. The bedroom continues the theme of cozy charm. With a small, comforting fireplace and walls painted in Farrow & Ball’s “String” and “Pelt,” the room feels enveloping and calm. Liz added a wall decal in stages to create a layered, handcrafted look that complements the room’s warm palette. The darker wall color enhances the sense of intimacy, making the bedroom a restful retreat within the cottage.
